Alejo Sarco has featured just once for Bayer Leverkusen’s first team since joining from Vélez Sarsfield in January.

Now, speculation is growing that he could head out on loan during the winter transfer window, with Bild reporting that Italian side Sassuolo have shown concrete interest in the 19-year-old.

Other Italian clubs, as well as 2. Bundesliga teams, are also reportedly monitoring Sarco.

The striker drew attention at the U20 World Cup a few months ago, scoring four goals in seven games for Argentina, who ultimately lost to Morocco in the final.

Before moving to Germany, he found the net once in nine appearances for Vélez Sarsfield.
