Having been linked with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande for some time, it now appears Liverpool FC are stepping up their interest in the 19-year-old.

According to Sky Germany, the Reds are “pushing” to sign Diomande before the World Cup, where the youngster is set to represent Ivory Coast.

The Athletic recently reported that Liverpool have made the winger a priority transfer target for the summer following his breakout season in the Bundesliga.

RB Leipzig, meanwhile, are keen to keep the winger for at least another season and are prepared to offer him a new and improved contract.

However, Die Roten Bullen could be tempted to sell if they receive an extraordinary offer in excess of €100 million.

At a media roundtable earlier this month, Bulinews.com asked Diomande about the growing interest in him.

“Of course, if you imagine someone saying you have to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more,” Diomande said.

“But I don’t think about this kind of thing because I’m trying to be focused on the pitch. Because my job is playing football, I leave everything else outside the pitch. It gives me a lot of motivation to see clubs speak about me. I'm focused.”
