Bayer Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand has confirmed that Mark Flekken has returned to full fitness following a knee injury.
However, a direct return to Leverkusen’s goal is not guaranteed for the 32-year-old, as Janis Blaswich has impressed in his absence – most recently in Tuesday’s 2–0 Champions League loss to Arsenal.
“It’s a difficult task. We have a top goalkeeper in Mark Flekken. We have two good options, but that’s good for our team,” Hjulmand said after the match in London.
“We’ll see in the next few days. Mark is ready, and I’ll decide in the coming days,” he added.
Hjulmand has a few days to make his decision, with Leverkusen set to face Heidenheim in their next game in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
