Real Madrid have made an audacious €150 million offer for Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez – but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine international wasn't their primary target, but rather Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.

After Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez revealed plans to make a €150 million offer for a star player, speculation quickly grew that Olise was the intended target.

According to Romano, the Frenchman was indeed Pérez’s primary target, but after Bayern publicly ruled out a sale, Real Madrid started exploring other options and eventually shifted their focus to Álvarez.

Olise most recently scored a hat-trick against Northern Ireland, helping France to a 3-1 win in their final friendly before the World Cup.
