VfL Wolfsburg have reached an agreement to sign Christian Eriksen as a free agent, according to Danish outlet Tipsbladet and German football magazine Kicker.

After agreeing terms with Wolfsburg and their Danish sporting managing director, Peter Christiansen, Eriksen has reportedly flown to Germany to complete the move.

The 33-year-old midfielder has been searching for a new club since his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last season.

Eriksen will join fellow Danes Joakim Mæhle, Andreas Skov Olsen, Jesper Lindstrøm, Jonas Wind and Adam Daghim at the Volkswagen Arena.

The veteran has made 144 appearances for the Danish national team, recording 46 goals and 34 assists.

He has also played over 300 Premier League games for Tottenham, Brentford, and Manchester United.
