According to multiple media reports, Marvin Ducksch is on the verge of a transfer from Werder Bremen to Championship side Birmingham City. Die Werderaner stand to receive a transfer fee of €2 million for the striker, one year before his contract would've run out.

“We are in promising talks,” confirmed Werder's head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, on Tuesday in response to a question from “Deichstube.”

Since then, Bremen have announced that Ducksch is free to complete his medical in order to sign for his new club, reportedly for up to three years.

Ducksch has been one of Bremen's most important players in the four years he's been at the club: 134 games, 54 goals and 40 assists are amazing numbers for a club not at the top of the Bundesliga.

Not to forget: Ducksch was also one half of the “Hässlichen Vögel” - a nickname created by the other half, Niclas Füllkrug, when both strikers were playing successfully for Bremen.

Most recently, there was even talk that American football legend Tom Brady had gotten involved in the efforts to secure Ducksch's signature!

The 47-year-old reportedly contacted Ducksch to convince him of a transfer to Birmingham. The seven-time Super Bowl winner has been a co-owner of the club since 2023.
