Bayern Munich have announced that Jamal Musiala has undergone successful surgery following the club’s return from the Club World Cup in the United States.

The 22-year-old suffered a fractured fibula and a broken, dislocated ankle just before half-time in Bayern’s 2–0 Club World Cup quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Musiala will begin his rehabilitation on Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined for several months.

Following his horrific injury, an overwhelming number of players, coaches, and other football figures have reached out to the 22-year-old to wish him a full and speedy recovery.
