Elder Tillman speaks to Kicker: "I have a lot of ideas and can help my teammates."

Two Bundesliga appearances. Two assists.

Things are really looking up for 22-year-old Greuther Fürth professional Timothy Tillman.

The former FC Bayern academy player spoke about his rising form in the Thursday print edition of German footballing magazine Kicker.
Nürnberg native Timothy Tillmann likely has his role in Fürth's starting XI nailed down after snagging an assist off the bench against Bayern in round six and notching another in starting appearance against 1. FC Köln in round seven of the 2021/22 German Bundesliga.

A one-time hot prospect on the famous FC Bayern München campus, Timothy found himself offloaded rather cheaply after a pair on unsuccessful loan spells at home-town club 1. FC Nürnberg. The German giants quietly sold him off to Fürth in the January 2020 transfer window for a paltry €50,000.

Since then, focus has often shifted to younger brother Malik. Still at the Bayern campus, Malik received a pro contract two weeks ago and is currently representing Germany with the U21 squad.

Meanwhile, the player the FCB seemingly gave up on is making some waves. Timothy, eligible to play for the United States through his father, is also now surely to be firmly on the radar of the USMNT's recruitment arms.

The elder Tillman brother last represented Germany at youth level in 2018. Some three years ago, he even announced his intention to switch after being invited to a USMNT youth training camp. He instead ended up playing for the German youths after missing a paperwork deadline.

Timothy didn't speak to Kicker about his international eligibility. Instead, the 22-year-old spoke on his form surge and expressed his desire to keep improving.

"I'm simply a young player who has still has a lot of potential to develop," Tillman said, adding, "but I think I have a lot of ideas going forward and can help my teammates by playing the final pass and setting the tone up front."

"I'm stepping it up and seeing to it that I get the best out of myself every day," he concluded.
