Hoffenheim linked with move for Zagadou

Hoffenheim are said to be interested in out-of-contract defender Dan-Axel Zagadou.
Kicker reports that Hoffenheim are showing interest in signing Dan-Axel Zagadou, who will be available on a free transfer when his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of this month.

'Die Kraichgauer' want to strengthen in central defence this summer, and Zagadou fits the "requirement profile," per Kicker.

Manchester City's Ko Itakura, who spent last season on loan at Schalke 04, and John Anthony Brooks, who is leaving Wolfsburg as a free agent, are seen as alternatives, with Hoffenheim already said to have made contact with the latter.

Zagadou spoke to beIN Sports about his future three weeks ago, saying:

"I don't necessarily have a preference. The most important thing for me is to play. I hope I can stay in Europe.

"I will see with my environment and my advisors what is on the table, and then we will all make the right decision together."

The 23-year-old made a total of 92 appearances for Borussia Dortmund with four goals and an assist to his name.
