Agent for Sabitzer and Choupo-Moting denies players wish to leave

The agent for FC Bayern München players Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Marcel Sabitzer both spoke to the Sport-Bild-produced "InTORnational" program on Sunday.

Advisor Roger Wittmann claimed that their clients were most likely to stay put this summer.

Germany's main sporting tabloid continued to publish links between Bayern back-up striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and unspecified Qatari clubs on Sunday. While Sport Bild maintained that the 33-year-old Hamburg native might be headed for the exits in print, the player's agent told a very different story on a broadcast program produced by the same newspaper.

Choupo-Moting's agent Roger Wittmann called the departure rumors "far fetched" and suggested that the media had no basis for reporting upon them. Wittman's stark denial may have had something to do with the fact that the tabloid's report insinuated that the former Mainz, Schalke, and PSG attacker was interested in perhaps securing an easy payday in semi-retirement on the peninsula.

It might be the case that the Cameroonian international will still be on the move. Choupo-Moting enters the final year of his contract and the various other strikers the FCB are angling for could render a switch the best option for him. When it came time to talk about another one of his clients, former RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer, Wittmann was more specific.

Wittmann denied reports that the Austrian was reconsidering his future with the German Champions. Wittman went so far as to say that the 28-year-old understood the reasons behind his lack of usage last year and remained committed to turning around under former Leipzig trainer Julian Nagelsmann.

"He came on the last day of the transfer window," Wittmann noted, "As such, he didn't quite get a grasp on what was needed and what was being worked on there. He didn't have a great year, but it determined to rectify that."
