Borussia Mönchengladbach

After beating Wolfsburg 2-0 on April 9, Gladbach missed the chance to claim consecutive victories when they faced Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. Jonas Hofmann gave die Fohlen an early lead in the away meeting, but an 83rd-minute effort from Randal Kolo Muani ensured the contest finished in a 1-1.

Although Gladbach are now unbeaten in four games, they have won only one of their last seven matches.

With six matches left to play, 10th-placed Gladbach are set to finish in a comfortable midtable position. There may not be much to play for on the face of it, but Daniel Farke will still be keen to see his side finish the season on a positive note.

The Gladbach boss will also want his team to extend their unbeaten home run, with their last five home matches producing two wins and three draws.

The hosts are unable to call upon the services of Tobias Sippel, Nico Elvedi, Alassane Plea, Tony Jantschke and Yvandro Borges Sanches.

Union Berlin

After failing to record a victory in their last three competitive games, Union will be hoping to return to winning ways on Sunday.

Union had to be content with a point from their away meeting with Bochum last weekend. Josip Juranović opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time, before Kevin Stöger restored parity from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. Union had to negotiate the final 29 minutes with ten men after Paul Jaeckel received a second yellow card, but they held firm to claim a point which could be crucial in their top-four bid.

Urs Fischer’s side head into Sunday’s encounter in third position with a two-point gap to Freiburg, who are sitting just outside the Champions League places. They will also finish the weekend five points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund if they can claim all three points against Gladbach.

Having won their last three meetings with Gladbach, die Eisernen will be confident of claiming an away victory on Sunday.
