Borussia Dortmund enter the final weekend with the Bundesliga title within their grasp. Bayern Munich’s 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig last Saturday presented Dortmund with the chance to move to the top of the Bundesliga table in Sunday's away meeting with Augsburg. After playing out a goalless first half that saw Augsburg reduced to ten men, Dortmund found the breakthrough just before the hour mark when Sébastien Haller scored in a third consecutive game.
The Ivory Coast international grabbed his and Dortmund’s second in the 84th minute, before Julian Brandt rounded off the scoring to seal a 3-0 victory that moves die Schwarzgelben to the brink of their first Bundesliga title since 2011-12.
Dortmund will end Bayern’s 10-season reign as champions if they claim all three points over Mainz 05, while a point would be enough if Bayern fail to beat Köln.
With Saturday’s hosts looking to record a title-winning victory, they can take confidence from their home form. Dortmund have won each of their last 11 home league games, scoring 46 goals during that period.
