Confirmed: Stuttgart striker Kuol returns to Australia

The return of VfB Stuttgart attacker Alou Kuol back to his Australian academy side was confirmed earlier today.
Australian A-League Champions Central Coast Mariners officially welcomed back their once-famed prospect Alou Kuol with much fanfare earlier today. The VfB Stuttgart bust was rumored to be on his way back to New South Wales for close to a week. The 22-year-old's German club divulged no information on a transfer fee, releasing only a brief statement from sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

"Alou has a great fighter's heart and an exemplary attitude," the VfB administrator remarked, "He works hard every day on his athletic development. The move back to the Central Coast Mariners, combined with the prospect of regular playing time, is an absolutely sensible step at this point in his career, for which we wish him all the best and much success."

Stuttgart acquired Kuol on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. It's possible that the Swabians were able to collect a transfer fee in the low-six-digit range for the striker who only made one brief appearance for the senior side, but that cannot be confirmed at this time. Kuol maintains an estimated market worth of €300,000 in the latest transfermarkt listings.
