With his contract at Bayern Munich expiring at the end of the season, Manuel Neuer has yet to decide whether he wants to extend his stay.

But the 40-year-old goalkeeping veteran said at a press conference on Tuesday that he expects clarity in the near future.

“I’d like to make a decision sooner rather than later. But I’m not basing it on titles. Ideally, I’d like us to win them all, but our opponents also have a big say in that,” Neuer said ahead of Bayern Munich's Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash against Real Madrid.

“I haven’t made up my mind yet, but it won’t be long before I do. And then there will be talks with the club.”

If Neuer decides against extending, he will most likely retire from football.
