Leipzig updates: RB achieve breakthrough on Openda, financials on Angelino deal revealed

Multiple German footballing media sources are now reporting that RB Leipzig have finally worked out a deal to acquire striker Loïs Openda from Ligue 1 club RC Lens.

German journalist Oliver Hartmann of Kicker Magazine has offered up specific figures on both Openda's incoming transfer and the soon-to-be finalized loan-out for Spanish wingback Angelino.
Though there have been recent false reports of a settlement before, journalist Oliver Hartmann of Germany's preeminent footballing publication is now reporting that Belgian striker Loïs Openda will complete his switch to RB Leipzig after a passed medical a little later this week. Hartmann writes that there has been a breakthrough in ongoing negotiations with French outfit RC Lens.

Hartmann claims that Leipzig will pay Lens a base transfer fee of €38 million. A number of lucrative performance related bonuses have been built into the deal so as to see the eventual sum rise closer to the French club's demands of around €45 million. Sky Germany roughly confirms the figures, which will in any event render Openda by far the most expensive purchase in RB Leipzig's young history.

With respect to the impending loan-out of RB left-back Angelino, Hartmann also has specific figures to add to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano's assertion that Leipzig and Galatasaray Istanbul have worked out an arrangement. Angelino's loan itself comes attached with a €1.5 million fee. An obligatory purchase clause of €7.5 million, based on a small number of appearances, is also built into the deal.
