Man City super-subs sink hard-working RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig proved a tough nut to crack for Manchester City but came away empty-handed, with second-half substitutes Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku playing key roles for the visitors.
RB Leipzig came close to getting something out of tonight's clash with Manchester City, but ultimately came up short against the reigning UEFA Champions League holders, who won 3-1 at the Red Bull Arena.

The visitors led 1-0 at the break thanks to a goal from Phil Foden after dominating the first 45 minutes.

However, Leipzig came out of the break with a different look and quickly struck back at the start of the second half, with Lois Openda firing the ball in off the post after being played in by Yussuf Poulsen.

As the second half progressed, victory seemed within reach for both teams, with Leipzig working tirelessly to stay in the game.

However, they fell behind in the 84th minute when Julian Alvarez received the ball from second-half substitute Jeremy Doku and curled a shot into the back of the net.

Two minutes into stoppage time, it was Alvarez's turn to set up Doku, who coolly finished one-on-one with Janis Blaswich in the bottom right corner.
