Germany winger Leroy Sané has apologized for the red card he received for shoving Philipp Mwene in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Austria.

"A night to forget in Vienna. I apologized to my teammates in the dressing room for my actions," the Bayern Munich star wrote on his X profile, adding:

"This is something that cannot happen with all the emotion and ambition, especially in our current situation.

"I would also like to apologize to our fans. We have a lot of work to do to make 2024 a successful year for us."
