Despite unleashing 25 shots at goal earlier this afternoon, Hamburger SV were held up a 0-0 draw by Borussia Mönchengladbach.
“We simply have to go into half-time with a lead after the first half. To end up with only one point is unfortunately disappointing,” said HSV skipper Miro Muheim after the game.
"At the same time, we played well and controlled the game. The only thing missing today was the goals. But we can also take a lot of positives from the match.
"We were extremely aggressive and intense, fully committed in the challenges, and also found good solutions going forward with the ball.
“The coaching staff prepared us superbly, especially regarding our pressing. They gave us everything we needed for a win, but sadly we couldn't get it today,” the Swiss full-back added.
Head coach Merlin Polzin also discussed the goal-less stalemate in his post-match press conference, but choose to take a more positive outlook on the result.
"We would have loved to have picked up another two points. The lads gave it their all, but in the end, it wasn't enough. Still, we know we can do it if we push ourselves to the limit.
“Then the players are more open to us. After all these years in the second division, we'll never feel bad about picking up a point in the Bundesliga,” he concluded.
