For the third time in 2026, Kaua Santos and Eintracht Frankfurt conceded three goals in a Bundesliga game as they drew 3-3 with the struggling Werder Bremen side on Friday night. Sporting CEO Markus Krösche didn’t mince his words after the 3-2 defeat in Stuttgart, and he once again criticized the defensive performance.
"It's always the same mistakes,” Krösche said after Frankfurt failed to keep their lead twice before salvaging a point in injury-time. “We now have the same topics that stick with us for 17 or 18 games. We consistently let in incredibly easy goals, and are far too hectic in possession. We have no structure."
The 45-year-old didn’t rule out the possibility of a change of direction as he reiterated that he didn’t see any change. “We can't continue like this. We are discussing it (Dino Toppmöller’s future) now. We need to address the issues and see that we never show performances like this again.”
Toppmöller was also asked about his future after Frankfurt’s winless run extended to four games. The 45-year-old coach replied "I don't feel like that" when he was asked about whether he’s fearing about losing his job. Frankfurt's next game will be in the Champions League as they face Qarabag away from home on Wednesday.
