Dier on being reunited with Kane: "I'll be playing golf and learning German with him."

At his official introduction at an FC Bayern München media round, newly-acquired English defender Eric Dier bid German football a spirited hello; answering several questions about being reunited with long-time Tottenham teammate Harry Kane.
Not yet ready to feature in FCB Thomas Tuchel's match-day squad, English defender Eric Dier has at least been given an official roll-out. The 29-year-old faced the cameras at club headquarters on Saturday. Already on record as saying that his new German side is an "amazing club", Dier had more to say about life with the German giants after participating in his first squad training session.

"I saw today that there's a lot of quality in the team," Dier remarked, "We have great strikers. It's always tough to play against Bayern. It's a big battle at a big club."

Unlike former long-time teammate Harry Kane, Dier will only be joining the German giants for the short-term. That is; unless a reported upon extension clause in his loan contact is activated. For the time being, Dier reported that he will be staying in a hotel. The English international laughed off a question over whether he planned to bunk alongside Kane at the striker's Munich residence.

"I don't know if Harry [with his recently expanded family] still has room," Dier chuckled, "I haven't been by [his place] yet, but he's invited me. I'll drop by, but definitely won't be staying there."

Dier was flanked by FCB sporting director Christoph Freund. The club personnel boss echoed the words spoken by head-coach Tuchel at a pre-match interview last night, saying that the 49-times-capped English international would do the team "immediate good with his experience."

There were more laughs to be shared at the media round when Dier was further pressed about his re-unification with Kane. While the new acquisition won't be staying in the same house as his good friend, Dier made clear that he had specific plans for his future down time.

"I'll be playing golf and learning German with him," Dier said, "It's important to me to learn the language of the country I live in quickly."
