Marco Reus has been a hugely important player for Borussia Dortmund since joining from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012, earning his place as a club legend with 410 appearances, 167 goals and 124 assists to his name.

But all good things must come to an end, and there is growing speculation that this could be Reus' last season in a Borussia Dortmund shirt.

The 34-year-old is no longer an undisputed starter and is "unlikely" to extend his contract, which expires in the summer, according to Sport Bild.

Per the report, a return to Borussia Mönchengladbach could be an option for the 34-year-old.

Die Fohlen are looking to add experienced players to their young squad and Reus may be inclined to stay in Germany, as a move abroad would be complicated for him as he has just become a father for the second time.

Reus scored 41 goals and provided 28 assists in 109 matches for Gladbach before leaving to join Dortmund.
