Bayer Leverkusen suffered a major injury blow in last week's 3-2 win over RB Leipzig when Exequeiel Palacios was forced off with an injury.

Leverkusen have since confirmed the central midfielder's absence "for the time being", revealing that a scan had revealed that he had suffered a hamstring injury.

Kicker now provides a more precise timeframe for Palacios' recovery, writing that he will be sidelined for at least four weeks and "well into February".

Palacios has made 22 appearances for the league leaders this season, scoring five goals and adding two assists.
