Marcel Sabitzer has been banned for two Bundesliga matches by the German Football Association (DFB) following his sending off in Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 win over Werder Bremen last weekend.

The Austria international was shown a straight red card just before half-time for a foul on Mitchell Weiser.

Dortmund had hoped that Sabitzer would only receive a one-match suspension, but the DFB has decided to ban him for two games.

That means the Black and Yellows will be without the midfielder against Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich.
