Hofmann disappointed by Germany snub

Jonas Hofmann has expressed his disappointment at not being called up to the German national team this month.
Bayer Leverkusen attacker Jonas Hofmann has admitted that he's disappointed not to have been called up to the German national team this month.

Explaining the decision, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said he believes other players have more momentum at the moment.

Asked if he understands the reasoning, Hofmann replied:

"We're in first place, I don't know if there's a better momentum for a player than that."

"But it is a very individual thing and if he thinks that the momentum is not on my side at the moment, then I have to accept that and do everything I can to get it back on my side.

He certainly hasn't given up on making the squad for the Euros.

"When you have two months left - eight league games, hopefully two more cup games and a couple in the Europa League - then there are still enough opportunities to get on the Euro train."
