Bayern München are pressed for time to snap up Dayot Upamecano from under the noses of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, according to a report from Sport Bild.

The German champions have reportedly lined up the RB Leipzig centre-back as a potential replacement for Jerome Boateng and David Alaba, who are both out of contract next summer.

RB Leipzig are aware of Bayern's interest, and the player himself would be interested in joining the Bavarians, as per the report, which claims he has a €45 million release clause that will come into effect in the summer. But for financial reasons, Bayern don't want to make an official move for Upamecano before Alaba's future has been sorted out.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer declared at the beginning of the November that the Bavarians had withdrawn their contract offer for Alaba, but club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge han since said the door is still 'open a crack' for the Austrian international to remain at Allianz Arena.

However, Bayern can't afford to wait too long before they make a move for Upamecano if they want to ward off interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, who could potentially agree a deal with the 22-year-old in the winter.

According to reports, Bayern already wanted to sign Upamecano in 2015, but he opted to join RB Salzburg from French side Valenciennes at the time.

The French international moved on to sign for Leipzig in January 2017 and has gone on to make 89 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
