Kicker Report: Bo Svensson to be unveiled as new Mainz trainer on Tuesday

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that the ongoing negotiations between German Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 and Austria's FC Liefering have concluded.

Former Mainz player and youth coach Bo Svensson should be introduced as the new Nullfünfter trainer on Tuesday.
Speaking to the Sky microphones prior to kickoff on Sunday, new Mainz sporting director Martin Schmidt confirmed that the Rheinhessen would introduce their new head-coach on Tuesday. Schmidt did not disclose a specific name, but multiple German media outlets corroborate the rumors from last week that Bo Svensson is indeed the man on his way to the Palatinate.

According to Kicker's information, negotiations stretched out over the weekend as the Pfälzer club had to provide Liefering with compensation to obtain obtain the in-contract 41-year-old. The Austrian club itself had to pay Mainz €1.5 million to pry Svennsson away from Mainz in 2019. No information about the reverse fee is available yet.

Kicker also states that Svensson brings with him assistant coach Babak Keyhanfar, a Mainz native who left with him two years ago.
