Is Hansi Flick's future as Bayern coach uncertain?

It's 'by no means certain' that Hansi Flick will stay on as FC Bayern coach beyond the summer, according to Sport Bild.

Despite leading Bayern München to the treble in the 2019/20 campaign, Hansi Flick's future at the Bavarian club is in doubt, according to Sport Bild.

In Flick's second season in charge, Bayern sit firmly top of the Bundesliga and have advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League, but crashed out of the DFB-Pokal to 2. Bundesliga outfit Holstein Kiel.

Flick is still under contract until 2023, but the German publication claims that due to a number of factors, it's 'by no means certain' that will stay on as coach beyond the summer.

Firstly, Flick is understood to be worried about what his working conditions will be like when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge resigns from his post as CEO at the end of 2021.

Additionally, there is supposed to be tension between Flick and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic due to the transfer policy at the club, which is firmly in the hands of the latter.

Bayern's summer signings are often on the bench, and Flick and his coaching staff are
said to regard the current squad as weaker than last year's treble team.

Salihamidzic, on the other hand, believes that it is Flick's job to elevate the new arrivals to a new level, and the supervisory board are more on his side in this dispute, as per the report.

A third factor is the interest in Flick from other clubs and associations. The 55-year-old has reportedly received inquiries from the Premier League, but more remarkably, he has been linked with the job as Germany coach.

Flick has been touted as a successor for Joachim Löw, who could step down after next year's European Championship, depending on how Germany perform at the tournament.

According to Sport Bild, Flick is 'definitely keen' on the job if it's offered to him by the German Football Association.
