Oliver Mintzlaff didn't divulge any of the details on German television on Sunday, but did answer a direct question about long rumored transfer target Mohamed Simaka. The club executive confirmed rumors of the signing while noting that he didn't wish to get too far ahead of his public relations department.

Transfermarkt.de reports that the transfer fee will be in the neighborhood of the estimated €15-18 million while German footballing magazine Kicker claims its sources can only confirm "a low double digit transfer fee".

Delays in confirming the assignment evidently stem from all the medical issues surrounding the 20-year-old's recent arthroscopic knee surgery. Mintzlaff's statement indicated that the club is comfortable with the Ligue 1 prospect's long-term prospects to recover and ultimately serve as Dayot Upamecano's replacement next year.

The CEO promised an announcement "in the next few days."
