RB Leipzig have sealed the capture of Mohamed Simakan from French side Racing Strasbourg.

The signing was confirmed by RB Leipzig CEO Markus Krösche on Sunday evening and has now been made official on the club's website.

The 20-year-old centre-back will join 'Die Roten Bullen' in the summer after putting pen to paper on a contract until 2026.

"Mohamed Simakan is a robust, dynamic and flexible defender, who can play as a centre-back and as a full-back on either flank," commented RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche.

"At 20, Mohamed is still young and capable of development, but has already been a first-team regular for Strasbourg for two seasons and has gained international experience in the Europa League. We are glad that he has chosen us despite numerous other interested parties."
