Glasner and Schäfer imply announcement on future to come soon, Weghorst emotional over Dutch team call-up

"After the tough blow in Athens, it's been a great season," head-coach Oliver Glasner said, reflecting on the European club competition loss, "We played consistently at a high level and the players have gelled as a unit. We absolutely have the right characters."
Glasner gave no clue as to whether he would be around to join these "characters" in the UCL next season. Most in German footballing circles consider the 46-year-old's departure to be certain. "I'm so proud to be standing here," Glasner said, "Today is party time. At the moment I have no thoughts for my situation. We're going to have a party all by ourselves in a bubble. Then comes the last game of the season and [afterward] we'll have plenty of time to talk about me."
"I will not talk about it," Schäfer bluntly stated, "I always handle such matters discreetly."
Top boss Jörg Schmadtke, who has publicly acknowledged that his relationship with Glasner isn't the easiest, was not on hand to comment to the Sky microphones. Reporters did catch lead-striker Wout Weghorst for some thoughts for his call up to Frank de Boer's preliminary 34-man-roster for the coming Euros.
The often overlooked 28-year-old's voice quivered when asked about the opportunity to earn his fifth cap for country.
"I'm very happy about it," he said with a faltering voice tone and a reflective look into the Wolfsburg night sky, "It's one more game, a four day break, and then hopefully it [football] will continue."
