Osnabrück hopeful of turning the tables in front of 2,000 live fans: "All we need is an early goal to get the house rocking!"
Absolutely nothing went VfL Onsnabrück's way on Thursday evening at the Audi-Sportpark. Die Lila-Weiß find themselves on the precipice of relegation to the 3. Bundesliga after dropping the first leg of the relegation-promotion playoff to FC Ingolstadt 0-3.
And yet, where there are fans there is always hope. Two thousand live fans will be allowed into the Bremer-Brücke on Sunday afternoon. Coach Markus Feldhoff and midfielder Ulrich Taffertshofer promised them a show in his post-match interview.

Osnabrück trainer Markus Feldhoff and midfielder Ulrich Taffertshofer aren't quite ready to concede defeat yet, however. The duo expressed confidence that, before 2,000 live fans on Sunday afternoon, they could still turn a steep aggregate scoreline around.
"Anyone who thinks it's over now is very much mistaken," Taffertshofer told German broadcaster DAZN after the full-time whistle, "All we need is an early goal to get the house rocking. Then it will get exciting again."
The 29-year-old's trainer conveyed similar sentiments. Three home goals will do the trick to at least force extra time. According to Feldhoff, that mountain will look considerably less insurmountable if the Westphalian-Saxons come out guns blazing.
"We just have to come out on fire like Ingolstadt did and take our destiny in our own hands," the head-coach noted, "We'll do everything we can to go for the sensation."
Osnabrück's home form this year has been nothing short of disastrous. The team actually lost 13 consecutive home fixtures in a row at the empty Bremer Brücke. The stadium shall nevertheless sit empty no more at kickoff on Sunday.
One can expect that the passionate NRW area supporters will scream down the house for their club.
