It had already been revealed that right full-back Stefan Lainer has indeed suffered a fractured ankle that could keep him out for a similar amount of time. The club was able to report some good news in the form of returns to team training for Ramy Bensebaini (who also twisted his ankle shortly before the full time whistle on Saturday) and Breel Embolo (still recovering from a thigh injury sustained in the summer European Championship).

The foals also tentatively sounded the all clear for striker Alassane Plea. After also having to leave the pitch early following an ankle injury on Saturday, the French striker is expected to be reincorporated into training tomorrow.
Plea should be available against Union Berlin on Sunday. Defender Matthias Ginter will absolutely not. Reports from Germany's main sporting tabloid that national team defender Matthias Ginter tested positive for COVID-19 were confirmed by German footballing magazine Kicker on Tuesday evening.
Ginter entered quarantine yesterday. Kicker journalist Jan Lustig reports that the 26-year-old is presumably asymptomatic after receiving both vaccine shots.
