Gerardo Seoane has chosen his starting number one goalkeeper for Borussia Mönchengladbach next season.

The Foals have announced that Moritz Nicolas will be preferred over Swiss shot-stopper Jonas Omlin.

Seoane expects more consistency from Nicolas: “It was a very close race. We expect Mo to be a bit more reliable at a high level.”

Last season, Nicolas took over Omlin's starting spot after he was injured, but then suffered an adductor injury himself.

Meanwhile, talismanic striker Tim Kleindienst will lead Gladbach onto the field as captain after his injury layoff.

Since the 29-year-old is still out for the long term due to a knee injury, his deputy Rocco Reitz will lead the team in their first DFB-Pokal match against Atlas Delmenhorst.

A product of the Gladbach academy who rose through the ranks, the young midfielder has been installed as vice-captain this season.
