Official: Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri joins Borussia Dortmund on season-long loan

Arsenal attacker Ethan Nwaneri will spend the remainder of the 2026/27 season at Borussia Dortmund.

Both clubs confirmed on Tuesday evening that the 19-year-old has joined Dortmund on loan.

Nwaneri arrives as a replacement for Giannis Konstantelias, who recently suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee.

“By bringing Ethan in on loan, we have managed to add a very talented and technically gifted midfielder to our squad," said Borussia Dortmund managing director for sport Lars Ricken. 

"With Giannis Konstantelias set to be sidelined for an extended period, it was important for us to strengthen our squad at short notice. From a sporting perspective, we believe Ethan’s signing is the best possible solution for us. We are delighted that we were able to get the deal over the line shortly before the end of the transfer window.”
