1.FC Heidenheim and Toronto FC have agreed on the transfer of midfielder Niklas Dorsch, confirmed as of this afternoon.

The 28-year-old had previously expressed his desire to leave Heidenheim for the Canadian side from Major League Soccer.

The agreement between the two clubs was reached during the Heidenheim's training camp in Natz-Schabs/South Tyrol.

“Of course, it’s a shame that ‘Dorschi’ is leaving us, as he was planned to be a key performer and leader next season.

"On the other hand, we were always aware that there could still be personnel changes this summer,” said FCH head coach Frank Schmidt.

“It was another two great years with ‘Dorschi,’ in which he contributed a great deal to our team. Our goal of having a good start to the season remains unchanged

“However, as we have several players in his position who we believe are capable of compensating for his departure,” he added.
