Borussia Dortmund has officially reached an agreement with David Blacha whose contract will start on 1 July, 2026.

The 35-year-old joins the eight-time German champions from SV Elversberg and will work at BVB as advisor to sporting director Ole Book.

Former professional Blacha, who ended his playing career in 2023, progressed through all of BVB's youth teams between 2000 and 2009.

“We are delighted to have secured David for Borussia Dortmund and are convinced that his abilities will help us progress.

“I remember David as an ambitious youth player in black and yellow and I am pleased that he is now part of BVB again,” said sporting director Lars Ricken.

After the end of his active career, Blacha began working as a scout for Elversberg in 2023 under the then sporting director Book.

“I am very much looking forward to my new role at Borussia Dortmund and want to contribute to the shared success of this special club from day one," said Blacha.
