Karlsruher SC have bolstered their midfield shortly before the transfer deadline with the signing of Hyeokkyu Kwon.

The South Korean is joining them from French club Nantes – Karlsruher has not disclosed the exact length of the contract.

It is understood that no transfer fee will be paid for the 24-year-old who made 12 appearances in Ligue 1, but failed tomake the squad this year.

"We are delighted to have signed Hyeokkyu Kwon permanently," said KSC sporting director Mario Eggimann.

"He distinguishes himself with his vision as a distributor of the ball in build-up play, as well as his height and athleticism as a strong workhorse in challenges.

“We are convinced that Hyeokkyu Kwon will bring stability to our game and take the next step with us”.
