Following his spell on loan in Turkey, László Bénes is leaving 1.FC Union Berlin permanently, as confirmed by the German capital club.
Bénes has subsequently agreed to join Belgian top-flight club KAA Gent ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.
The 28-year-old midfielder transferred to the Alte Försterei in the summer of 2024 and is now taking on a new career step.
In his only season at Union, the Slovakian international played 25 competitive matches, scoring twice and providing one assist.
To gain more playing time, he moved on loan to Turkish top-flight club Kayserispor, scoring seven goals and assisting two more.
"László always showed professionalism with us and made some important contributions with his qualities.
"After his loan, an opportunity has arisen for him to reorient himself long-term. We thank him for his commitment in the Union jersey.
“We wish him all the best and much success in Gent on his future path,” said Horst Heldt, director of football at Union Berlin.
