Official: Leverkusen send new signing Erlein on loan to Cottbus
Luca Erlein joins Energie Cottbus on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen confirmed Germany U19 international Luca Erlein will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Energie Cottbus. The right-back joined Die Werkself from TSG Hoffenheim for €2 million a couple of days ago.
As they did with fellow Germany U19 international Francis Onyeka, Erlein will now spend some time on loan before his leap to Bundesliga football. Onyeka joins newly-promoted Elversberg in another loan deal after his time at VfL Bochum.
Energie Cottbus also won promotion to 2. Bundesliga last term as they prepare for their first second-division campaign since 2014. Die Lausitzer have been active in the transfer market, with Leonardo Bittencourt, Christian Kinsombi, Lucas Copado and Marcel Lotka among their new signings this summer.
