After rumours circulated on Sunday evening, VfL Wolfsburg has confirmed the signing of Aaron Zehnter from SC Paderborn.

Die Wölfe announced that the U-20 international left winger has signed a contract until the summer of 2030.

Second division club SC Paderborn will reportedly receive a transfer fee of up to €5million euros for the German.

Wolfsburg fended off several Bundesliga clubs, including FC Köln, Werder Bremen and Mainz, who were also interested in signing him.

VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz said: “Aaron is very versatile on the left side and has enormous potential, which he impressively demonstrated last season.

"We are convinced that he can take the next step in his development with us and, with his qualities, will be a real asset to our game.”
