Borussia Dortmund are free to negotiate the fee if another club comes forward for their star striker Serhou Guirassy.

That’s according to Bild, who reports that the release clause in the Guinea international’s contract expired on June 30.

Previously, a number of selected clubs - including Chelsea - had the option to sign the 29-year-old for a fixed fee of around €70 million.

However, according to the German tabloid, that option no longer exists, putting Dortmund in the strongest possible negotiating position for the striker, who is under contract until 2028.

Even when the clause was active, leaving Dortmund never seemed to be something Guirassy seriously considered, with the forward fully expected to remain at the Black and Yellows for the upcoming campaign.
