Following two excellent seasons with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško is a subject of a big move this summer. The Bulls didn’t expect him to stay with the club beyond this season, but missing out on European competition further cemented the inevitable.

That was also visible from Elvis Basanovic’s conversation with Fabrizio Romano for GiveMeSport. As expected, Šeško’s agent painstakingly avoided dropping names of clubs associated with the player.

“It’s not correct to speak about the names of clubs that are interested in Šeško. But maybe it is right to clarify a few things,” said Basanovic when he was asked about the interest from Arsenal and comparisons with Viktor Gyökeres.

“Let me tell you: Šeško is not competing with anyone. It’s him vs him every day. We have a clear plan for the future, and media speculation doesn’t affect us,” responded Basanovic. “His numbers at his age are comparable to some strikers with already great careers. That confirms my words.

“He will move from RB Leipzig only when we recognise a special club. A special project with a special coach.”

Fellow Premier League side Chelsea are also interested in his signing, although they have already secured the transfer of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Šeško’s contract at Leipzig runs until 2027.
