Unless something unexpected happens, Xavi Simons is set to start for RB Leipzig against FC Bayern in the Bundesliga opener on Friday.

After that, the move to Chelsea is set to be completed, according to Sky Germany's journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The chances of the transfer going through remain very high, especially considering Simons only wants to join Chelsea.

As previously reported, personal terms between the Netherlands international and the London club are fully agreed.

All that remains is the Saxony side waiting for an official offer. They still intend on holding out for €70million.

Simons featured in Leipzig's nail-biting 4-2 win over DfB-Pokal opponents Sandhausen on Saturday, where he provided a goal and assist.
