Sky Germany understands that AFC Bournemouth have made a verbal approach to sign Jamie Leweling.
The Premier League club, who looks set to lose Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, see the VfB Stuttgart man as a perfect replacement.
The Cherries are willing to pay up to €40 million for the winger, but VfB-Boss Wohlgemuth and Sebastian Hoeneß have rejected the proposal.
Both the Bundesliga club's chief and head coach deem Leweling as a key component in their squad and unwilling to let him leave.
Nottingham Forest and Juventus were also interested in Leweling during last summer, but a deal never materialized.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions, netting 3 goals alongside 5 assists.
