While many in Stuttgart will still be celebrating the DFB-Pokal win, some officials are already working on new transfers behind the scenes.

Stuttgart's end to the season left the fans with somewhat mixed feelings: while the triumph in the national cup competition is a huge boost in squad moral and a well-deserved reward for the hard work in the last two seasons, the perfomances in the Bundesliga and Champions League were not as good as the fans had hoped for.

9th in the Bundesliga when rivals Leipzig and Dortmund had difficult seasons themselves and 26th in the Champions League are proof of the fact that Stuttgart still have a long way to go in order to cement themselves as a top 4 team in Germany.

That's also why Stuttgart's officials are constantly on the lookout for new players to improve Sebastian Hoeneß' squad. The newest target: Stade Renne's rightback Lorenz Assignon.

Sky Germany report that Stuttgart are very interested in the 24-year-old and they're already in concrete talks with his management! Assignon has played 32 games in Ligue 1 last season and was directly involved in 7 goals.

His contract with Stade Rennes runs until June 2028 and Stuttgart would have to pay around €9 million to secure his services for the 2025/26 season.

Josha Vagnoman was Stuttgart's most used rightback in 2024/25 and made 35 appearances for the Schwaben. His contract runs out at the end of next season.
