Xhaka leaning towards Leverkusen stay, per Sacha Tavolieri

Die Werkself may keep hold of the Swiss midfielder after all.

Despite Sunderland and Fenerbahçe's approaches, Granit Xhaka is now leaning towards staying at Bayer Leverkusen.

The Swiss international's family is reportedly struggling with the idea of leaving Germany where they've settled for the last two years.

Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that newly created Saudi Arabian side NEOM SC made the most concrete approach.

However, NEOM were unwilling to offer more than an initial €8million bid, which Leverkusen promptly rejected.

Die Werkself tried to negotiate and asked for €15million as counter proposal while the initial asking price was €12million.
