Report: Ardon Jashari turned down Borussia Dortmund offer

Recent reports had suggested that Borussia Dortmund pulled out of the race to sign Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari due to a crowded midfield. However, new information indicates it was actually the player himself who declined the move to the Bundesliga side.

According to a report from Bild, BVB had voluntarily ended their pursuit of the 22-year-old Swiss international, with sporting director Sebastian Kehl supposedly backing off due to Dortmund’s depth in midfield. But that narrative now appears to be inaccurate.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims it was Jashari who turned down Dortmund’s offer. In addition, the Club Brugge midfielder has reportedly rejected three proposals from Premier League clubs, as his top priority is a move to Serie A giants AC Milan.

Brugge are said to be demanding a fee in the region of €40 million for the Switzerland international, who has become one of the standout performers in the Belgian league.

BVB miss out on midfield target

Jashari’s decision to reject Dortmund is a blow for the Bundesliga club, who had been monitoring his development closely. The 22-year-old, known for his composure on the ball and tactical intelligence, would have added a different dimension to Dortmund’s midfield.

Despite missing out, Dortmund are well-stocked in the centre of the pitch, particularly after recent extensions and internal promotions, but Jashari’s profile suggests he’ll be a name to watch in Serie A if the AC Milan move materialises.
