Bayern Munich are hoping Harry Kane didn't suffer a serious injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

The England captain went off with ankle pain after a challenge from Amine Adli in the closing stages of the game.

"If Harry goes off the pitch, something really happened," Bayer board member for sport Max Eberl told Sky Germany after the game, having seen replays of the injury.

"It doesn't look good."

After consulting the team doctors, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was more optimistic about the injury.

“He picked up a knock. But as the doctors said, it's probably nothing serious. We'll have to see tomorrow," he told AZ.

Bayern hope to have Kane fit for Wednesday's away match against Aston Villa in the Champions League.
