Morocco were dealt a significant injury blow in their 3-0 round of 16 win over Canada at the World Cup, as Ismael Saibari was forced off in the first half with a hamstring injury.
Saibari, who was recently announced as a new Bayern Munich signing, is now a major doubt for Morocco’s quarter-final against France, but his involvement hasn't been completely ruled out.
According to reports, the 25-year-old is travelling with the Moroccan national team to Boston ahead of the match and will undergo an MRI scan on Monday to determine his availability.
After scoring in each of Morocco’s group-stage matches, Saibari converted the winning penalty in their shootout victory over the Netherlands in the round of 32.
The quarter-final will be kicked off on Thursday at 22:00 CEST.
