With just one year left on his contract with Borussia Dortmund, Julian Brandt's future is uncertain.

However, the 29-year-old has made it clear that any discussions about an extension will have to wait.

"We’re now preparing well for the Club World Cup, and then at some point, there will certainly be talks," said Brandt in an interview with Sky.

“But we’re not doing that today, and we’re not doing that next week either.”

Despite the uncertainty, Brandt insists there’s no urgency or pressure to initiate talks with the club’s hierarchy.

"We can all chat every two weeks, but the answer will always be pretty much the same," he said.

"The situation regarding my contract is clear to me and certainly also to the club. But everything is super relaxed."

Brandt finished the Bundesliga campaign in excellent form, scoring twice and providing four assists in Dortmund’s final four league matches.
